Two-Stroke Engine - Explained


How does a two stroke engine work? The concepts involved showing the two-stroke engine cycle. Two-stroke engines require oil to be added to the fuel since the crankcase is exposed to the air/fuel mixture unlike in a 4 stroke engine. The main difference is a two-stroke engine fires once per crankshaft revolution, where as a 4 stroke engine fires every other crankshaft revolution.
