India’s second largest two wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto is all set
to fire the market with new products this year. The company has
launched a new Discover variant at Rs. 42,000 which will soon available
across the country. The company also plans to launch all new motorcycle
in the month of June which will be showcased to media in the month of
May, 2012.
Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, in an interview with CNBC TV 18 said
that the company is aiming double digit growth with the launch of new
Discover at Rs. 42,000. He also said that last year the company’s
domestic growth was hurt due to absence of new bike launches. This year
the company has schedule many new launches. The first launch was KTM
Duke 200, the new Pulsar will soon hit the showroom and the company will
launch all new motorcycle in the month of June.
He also said that the new Discover will provide double digit growth
to brand Discover. He did not say under which brand the all new
motorcycle will be launched but it can be Boxer or Discover. It is also
certain that the new Pulsar will be available in the showroom from the
month of May.
Bajaj Auto wants to defend its leadership in the 125cc and above
segment with the launch of new products. Further, the company also wants
to gain some market share in 100cc segment. It is to be noted that HMSI
has outsold Bajaj Auto by more than 2,500 units in the domestic
market. HMSI is registering highest growth among the two wheeler
companies in India on the back of Activa scooter demand. Bajaj Auto
which only sold motorcycle has to work hard to defend its second
position in the domestic market.
